Apraxia Kids is the leading nonprofit that strengthens the support systems in the lives of children with apraxia of speech. Since 2000, we have provided support to tens of thousands of families and professionals by offering support, education, awareness, advocacy and research.

What is childhood apraxia of speech? Childhood apraxia of speech (CAS) is a motor speech disorder that makes it difficult for children to speak. Children with the diagnosis of apraxia of speech generally have a good understanding of language and know what they want to say. However, they have difficulty learning or carrying out the complex sequenced movements that are necessary for intelligible speech.

CAS is a lifelong disorder.Our vision at Apraxia Kids is a world where every child with apraxia of speech reaches their highest communication potential through accurate diagnosis and appropriate timely treatment.
