How Does
It Work?
IMPORTANT INFORMATION
All governmental guidelines are strictly followed with regard to COVID restrictions. All surfaces are disinfected and all staff wear masks at all times. Stanchions are used to maintain social distancing and all guests are individually serviced by a candy crew member. We graciously request all guests to wear masks at every event to ensure the safety of everyone.

3. Accessible Features
Here’s how we ensure inclusivity across our platform:
-
Text Alternatives: Key images include text alternatives to provide context for users relying on screen readers. While some images are designed for sensory engagement beyond words, we aim to provide meaningful descriptions wherever possible.
-
Screen Reader Compatibility: Our website supports popular screen readers such as JAWS, NVDA, and VoiceOver, ensuring that visually impaired users can access content effectively.
-
Flexible Viewing Options: Content is accessible in both landscape and portrait modes, accommodating user preferences.
-
Customization: Users can adjust browser settings or use plug-ins (like "Change Colors" on Google Chrome) to further tailor their browsing experience.
4. Accessibility Standards
We align our digital accessibility efforts with WCAG 2.1 AA, a recognized standard for web accessibility. Learn more about these standards at the W3C Website.
5. Maintaining Accessibility
To ensure ongoing compliance:
-
We conduct regular audits and accessibility testing, both internally and through third-party experts.
-
We monitor updates in web accessibility standards to implement improvements proactively.
6. Compliance with Legal Standards

8. Helpful Accessibility Resources
Below are some resources for improving accessibility and understanding user tools:
9. Using Screen Readers and Mobile Accessibility Tools
Screen Readers
Screen readers, like JAWS and NVDA, offer text-to-speech functionality to make web content accessible audibly. These tools work with keyboard commands and Braille devices for enhanced navigation. Many browsers also support plug-ins to facilitate these features.
Mobile Accessibility
Modern smartphones provide robust accessibility tools, including:
-
iOS: Features like VoiceOver, Zoom, and Color Filters are customizable via "Settings" > "Accessibility."
-
Android: TalkBack provides an integrated screen reader, while other tools offer text magnification and color adjustments.
These built-in tools empower users to personalize their browsing experience.
At Curbside Confections, accessibility is a priority. We are committed to providing an inclusive experience for all and continually improving our practices to ensure that everyone can enjoy the sweetness we bring to the world.
